CONTACTS:
My photography goes far beyond technique. It is about empathy, presence, and the art of truly seeing people. I have been practicing photography for over 40 years, and I do not work alone: this is a family business. My son Anatoly runs the session with you, light and direction, while I wait for the frame. Experience on its own repeats what already worked; youth on its own has nothing to repeat yet. Together they are what you see in these pictures. We photograph families, couples, children and seniors in St. Augustine, and we print and frame the work in our own studio.

Frequently asked questions
Historic streets or the beach?
The old town gives you coquina walls, arches and narrow streets that exist nowhere else in the country. The beach gives space, sky and room for children to run. Families with small kids usually do better on the beach, couples and seniors in the old town. If you cannot choose, take the extended session and we do both.
What time of day is best?
The honest local answer: golden hour in St. Augustine lasts about 32 minutes, not an hour. We are at latitude 30 and the sun drops almost straight down. So we do not build the whole session around it. We bring studio flash, which means midday sun and open shade both work, and we save the last half hour of light for the one frame that deserves it.
Will we walk a lot?
No. We have walked these routes ourselves with GPS and measured them. A standard session stays inside three or four points within a few hundred metres of each other, with the car close by. With grandparents, a stroller or a toddler we cut it to two points and bring the light to you.
What happens if it rains?
We move the session at no cost to the nearest date that works for you. Florida rain usually lasts half an hour, so sometimes we simply wait it out under an arcade and photograph the wet cobblestones afterwards. They look beautiful.
We have never been photographed. What do we do?
Nothing. That part is our job. Anatoly runs the session and tells you where to stand, what to do with your hands and when to look away. Vladimir waits for the moment it stops looking like posing. Nobody is asked to say cheese.
What should we wear?
Two or three colours across the whole group, nothing brighter than the faces, no large logos. Linen, cotton and soft knits sit well in this light. Send us a photo of what you plan to wear and we will tell you honestly if something fights with the background.
How many photographs do we get, and when?
The number is fixed in each package: 10, 25, 35 or 50 finished photographs, colour corrected and ready to print. They arrive within seven days. Extra images are $10 each, deep retouching is $15 per image.
Do you photograph children and newborns?
Yes, and we plan for it. The children’s session is 75 minutes because the first twenty belong to the child deciding whether we are interesting. There are two of us, so one plays while the other works.
Do you print, or do we get files only?
We print ourselves, in our own studio, on Canon LUCIA PRO II pigment inks and museum grade paper and canvas. Your photographs never leave the hands of the people who took them. A print costs width times height in inches times $0.2.
We were photographed at IrisProPhoto. Does that change anything?
Yes. IrisProPhoto™ is our other studio, the same family. If you have been photographed there, take 20% off any portrait session booked before November 30. It works the other way too: come to a portrait session and we will show you your own iris on the studio screen, free of charge.
